Student Activities
Student Affairs Organization
Students at Canyon Springs take an active part in our school through Student Affairs Organization. The members are selected through an essay contest offered to all 5th and 6th grade students. The members of Student Affairs Organization plan monthly events and activities school wide to create a positive school environment for everyone.

Students at Canyon Springs have the special opportunity to interact and learn with students on campus who are either Deaf or Hard of Hearing. The students work with them in class and play together on the playground. Due to this special situation, a club was developed to teach the students signs so that they may better communicate and understand the deaf culture. This club meets during morning recesses in the MPR. Many students have learned not only signs but have accompanied the DHH children during school music performances. Everyone enjoys having these students on campus and will clap in sign language during award assemblies to show their support. In addition, two Thursdays nights each month, a class is being offered for parents, family members, and interested staff members.
Band

Students in 4-6 grades have the opportunity to participate in After School Band Instruction. Students are instructed in woodwind, brass, and percussion. Canyon Springs School Band will participate in the annual Spring Concert joining other participating schools in the Santa Clarita Valley.
After School Programs - Professional Development Tuesdays
Every Tuesday is an early dismissal day for the students at Canyon Springs School. After school programs, operated by independent consultants, are being offered on Tuesdays. These programs include: Drama, Soccer, Chess, Cheer leading, and American Sign Language.
