School Dress Code In general terms, students shall wear appropriate clothing and groom themselves in a manner which reflects good taste, does not violate the rules of decency, or distracts from the educational program. With this in mind, the following rules apply:
Clothing Clothing should be clean and neat. Do not wear any clothing with vulgar or suggestive comments or advertising for alcohol, drug or tobacco products. Halter tops, tube tops or bare midriffs are not appropriate. For safety reasons, pants must not drag on the ground. Skirts and shorts should not be excessively short. The bottom edge of skirts and shorts should be no higher than the point on the child's thigh where the first knuckle of their fingers reach when their arm is held straight down along their side.
Hats and other accessories Hats may only be worn on the playground and not indoors. If a student is involved in an incident involving inappropriate behavior related to his or her hat, the student may not be allowed to wear the hat. Chains used to hold wallets are not allowed for safety reasons.
Shoes For safety reasons, proper footwear is to be worn. Thongs, sandals, and all open toe shoes may be hazardous when the child is playing on the playground and should not be worn at school.

What Constitutes a Missing Homework Assignment The homework is not submitted by the end of the week or for homework assigned on a Thursday, the Monday after it was assigned. If a child is absent or unable to do homework assigned for a legitimate reason, a teacher can make special arrangements with the student to allow them to make up a portion of the homework that is essential to their learning.
