MISSION STATEMENT ~ Learners Today, Leaders Tomorrow!

Pinetree Community School students will be proficient or advanced in essential state content level standards.  They will acquire life skills and positive behaviors to become successful human beings.  Student learning is a shared responsibility that involves parents, teachers, classified staff, and students.   Grade level collaboration and analysis of common assessments drives instruction for enrichment and intervention.

THE HISTORY OF PINETREE COMMUNITY SCHOOL

Pinetree School opened in September of 1988. The center of the campus is the library resource building which houses 16,858 volumes. Each of the classroom wings surrounds a large multi-use area and each pair of classrooms shares a teacher work space where students can receive individual attention. There are primary and upper grade computer labs. The cafeteria/auditorium has an indoor/outdoor raised stage area with seating to accommodate the entire student population for assemblies. Students have the option to play in the blacktop area or on the grassy field.

In 1993 and 2004, Pinetree School was selected by the California State Department of Education to receive the Distinguished School Award. Technology continues to be an area of major focus across the curriculum.

Pinetree's 48 teachers are supported by classroom instructional aides, a librarian, a resource specialist, a computer specialist and a speech/language specialist. The PTA, School Site Council and parent volunteers are actively involved in school activities and programs supporting extra curricular activities.

Drop Off and Pick Up

Your Child's Safety is important to us!

Dismissal Areas
  • Students who ride the bus will meet on Gladiolus Dr.  Students will not be allowed to cross between buses at any time.
  • Students who walk home will exit the school by the buses on Gladiolus Dr. or by the front gate.
  • Students who are picked up by car will meet their ride in the Valet line in the parking lot or beyond the bus zone on Gladiolus Dr., Lotusgarden (facing downhill) or Flowerpark Dr. (using crosswalks).
  • Students who attend Sunshine Day Care will walk directly to the Sunshine building at 2:15.
  • Students who wait for rides in front of school are supervised by teaching staff and are expected to wait in the yellow square painted on the ground.  Students are not allowed to step off the curb or cross the parking lot without an adult.

    Pinetree's Valet Program

    The valet program is to aid parents with a smooth, safe method for dropping off and picking up children as soon as the bell rings.  The Lotusgarden curb adjacent to the school has been posted NO PARKING 1:45-2:15.  This allows parent to line up for Valet pick-up at 2:15.  Drivers must stay in their cars or run the risk of ticketing.  The driveway gate will be opened when the bell rings and a teacher is on duty.  This procedure will insure a smooth flow of traffic through the parking lot.  Parents having business in te school can enter in the left lane and park in the lot.  To reduce congestion, cars will not be permitted to enter the Valet line from Flowerpark nor make a left turn from Lotusgarden.

    *Sign out student in the office or at the front gate    		 emergency card often.  It's easy.  Just stop
    *Show proper identification by the office or call the office.
    *Stay calm Our greatest concern is the children.
