Instructional Services coordinates the adoption of new textbooks each year. Teachers are supported in their use and familiarity of the new program through staff development and support materials developed by teachers and shared with all staff.

A committee of teachers, administrators and parents participate in the adoption of a new textbook program.  Publisher representatives bring state adopted materials to share with the committee.  Our teachers pilot the series to get a first hand look at the materials and the program being offered.  All teachers and parents are invited to preview the top materials prior to the committee making its recommendation to the Governing Board.  Teachers across the district are then trained on the new program and are ready to implement it during the next school year.  Additional training is offered to teachers to support the implementation of the new materials.
