I hope you are all doing well.
I miss your children very much and am enjoying our daily Zoom sessions. Since we now have an updated return date of May 5th, I wanted to provide an updated message. Your child does not have to do the packet the district provided if they are doing the daily work I am assigning in Google classroom (which I would prefer them to do).
If your child clicks on the
CLASSWORK tab at the top of Google classroom, they will see the page containing work that I've assigned. At the top of the page is a "Suggested Schedule for Distance Learning." If they follow that schedule, it will lead them to all the work I've been assigning. Most of the assignments do not have an exact turn in date as I know everyone's situation is different. Just as long as your child is working on each subject daily (at some point), it will help with continuity of their learning.
I am on
Google classroom every day and available to your child to answer any questions they or you may have. I have also begun providing instructional videos for math that they can watch as many times as they need to in order to understand the unit we are currently on. Thank you for your time and support and please let me know if you are in need of a device, such as a Chromebook, to help your child work on their online class work. ~Mrs. Puth

I’m a graduate of Hart High School and UCSB. I love living and teaching in the Santa Clarita Valley. This year is my twenty-first year of teaching here at Leona Cox. Eighteen of my twenty-one years of teaching have been in the sixth grade. My main job is to prepare students for junior high school. This means organization and study skills are emphasized, but having fun and being creative are just as important! It is my hope that a student leaves my classroom knowing that they were supported, did their best and feel prepared to master junior high.
