Mrs. Diane Luna
Welcome to my website,
My name is Mrs. Diane Luna. I received my three teaching credentials over 25 years ago. I have a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, Mild/Moderate Special Education Teaching Credential and a Severe Special Education Teaching Credential (which includes my Autism Credential). Working with students with Autism is my passion!
I also work with SELPA and I am a representative for CAPTAIN (California Autism Professional Training and Information Network). This program is a cross agency network developed to support the understanding and use of Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) with individuals affected by an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in California. This year, I am the Special Education Representative for our school’s PTA.
My classroom is tailored specifically to create and foster a healthy learning environment for all of my students. My classroom's program is centered on research based strategies of Applied Behavior Analysis which is proven to assist students with autism. These strategies include Visual Schedules, Discrete Trial Trainings, Social Skills, Pivotal Response Training and large and small group instruction. We work on IEP goals daily to ensure growth and development throughout the school year. I incorporate the STAR curriculum in my classroom's program. This curriculum is evidence based and teaches my students pre-academics, daily living skills, imitation skills, social skills and fine motor skills.
Thank you for visiting my website!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Diane Luna
