Keeping Students Safe During Extreme Heat

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The safety and well-being of our students and staff are always our top priority—especially during days of excessive heat. To help protect everyone, we take regular temperature and humidity readings at each school site throughout the day.

We follow the heat index (a combination of temperature and humidity) to guide outdoor activity decisions:

• When the heat index is over 95, outdoor play will be limited to grassy areas only.
• When the heat index reaches 100 or higher, students will remain indoors during recess and other outdoor activities.

Thank you for your support as we work to keep all students safe, healthy, and comfortable.

Family Resource Center

Located at Canyon Springs Community School

The District’s Family Resource Center is dedicated to supporting our community by providing basic food supplies, clothing, toiletries, and school supplies to families in need.  

The goal of the Family Resource Center is to ensure that every family has access to food and supplies, as well as, assist in removing any barriers that may be interfering with students attending and thriving in school. If your family needs access to this Center, please call the Center directly. Please see the hours of operation and phone numbers below.

 BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT 

September 2, 2025 and September 4, 2025

We are excited to welcome all of our families to the District’s Back-to-School Night on September 2nd and September 4th. Please see the chart below to see which day and time your child’s school will be hosting their Back-to-School Night. 

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, explore their classrooms, and get a glimpse of what is in store for the upcoming school year.
