• Principal's Message

    Dear Valley View Families,

It is my great honor and privilege to serve as the principal of Valley View Community School. Valley View is a vibrant and unique school community rich in diversity, positive energy, and big dreams. Working alongside our dedicated teachers and staff, I am excited to continue the legacy of success established by strong relationships with families, students, and community members. Together we will create a culture of care and excellence!

I have been dedicated to the field of education for 16 years. I began my career as a classroom teacher in the Greater Los Angeles area serving at-promise youth, followed by eight years with the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) as literacy specialist, senior program specialist, and site administrator working with justice-involved youth.  I consider myself an instructional leader and problem solver with experience in community building. I believe in equity and creating life-long learners who not only advocate for themselves but those around them.

My passions include creativity, collaboration, experimentation, and interdisciplinary project-based work where students dream, discover, craft and create, ultimately becoming all they are meant to become. I am thrilled to work in an environment where social-emotional growth is emphasized alongside academic prowess, recognizing that in addition to scholarship, students must build social skills and emotional intelligence to become leaders who effect positive change in our ever-evolving global community.

With great eagerness and enthusiasm, I look forward to a fantastic year with all of you. If you have any questions, concerns, ideas or dreams, please share them with me. I would love to hear from you.

    In partnership,

    Mrs. Johnson
