    On Saturday, March 15th at Golden Valley High School, our District is joining William S. Hart Union High School District in hosting an exciting FREE Family Resource Fair for our community.

    Event Begins9:30AM

    Student Performances, Informational Sessions for Families

    Resource Booths, Art Gallery

     

    Please note:

    • Student Performances are from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the Theater.
    • Resource Booths and Informational Sessions will begin at 10:30 AM following the student performances. All Resource Booths will remain open until 1:30 PM.
    • Kids’ Program starts at 9:30 AM and ends at 12:00 PM.
    • Art Gallery is open from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

    Kids’ Program, Ages 4-13: 9:30AM to 12:00PM, (Kids can visit Resource Booths and Art Gallery with Families from 12:00PM to 1:30PM)

     

    Families will have an opportunity to attend Informational Sessions that focus on a variety of topics that will be presented by Sulphur Springs and William S. Hart Union School Districts’ staff and community partners in the Santa Clarita Valley. A few of the topics that will be presented are:

     

    • A-G Requirements for High School and University
    • Pathway to Your Future, Career and College Readiness Program, Offerings in the Hart School District
    • Dental Health
    • Increasing Learning and Skills and i-Ready
    • Supporting Reading: Foundational Skills, Orton Gillingham
    • Scouting for the Family, Cub Scouts Pack 48 of Canyon Country
    • All the Branches of a School Social Worker
    • Social Development for Young Children
    • Screen Time Impacts on Children and SMART Alternatives
    • How to Help Your Child be Successful in School
    • 4 Simple Ways to get my Child Ready to Read
    • How to Live in a Life of Optimism
    • Alzheimer’s Awareness

    Registration Required for Kids’ Program

     

     

    While families are attending workshops at the Resource Fair and visiting resource booths from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, your child will have an opportunity to attend a FREE Kids’ Program. Kids will be able to experience hands-on science activities, listen to Fire Fighters speak to them about safety, learn to play African drums, and participate in fun outdoor activities, and much more!

     

     

     

     

     

     

    IMPORTANT: Registration: ONLY 300 Spaces Available: Kids’ Program:

     

    Registration is required for children, ages 4 to 13 years old, to attend the Kids’ Program. Please click on the LINK to register your child. Parents will receive a confirmation call from staff that your child is registered for the Program.

    Sulphur Springs Union School District Choir and Instrumental Music

    Golden Valley High School Jazz Band

     

    We are also excited to share with you that our District and students from William S. Hart Union High School District Choirs and Jazz Band will be joining together to open the event. They will be performing on stage starting at 9:30 AM in the Theater at Golden Valley High School. Both school Districts have a strong focus on supporting the arts, and we are excited that we have our students joining together to open our event.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Reminder: FREE TRANSPORTATION

     

    To support families with transportation to the event, the following bus stops will be available, please see below. Buses will shuttle back-and-forth to the event, and will begin at 8:45 AM and conclude at 2:00 PM. Buses will run every 15 to 20 minutes. Please see the bus stops below:

    Art Contest for Students

     

    During the Many Families One Community Family Resource Fair this year, we are holding an Art Contest. Your child will have the opportunity to participate in this by submitting an art piece that is focused on the theme: Many Families One Community. All art pieces are due by February 21st, 12:00PM, and can be dropped off at your child’s school office.

     

    All students who participate will receive a participant ribbon. There will be a committee that will judge the art pieces for first, second, and third place. Students can come to the event on March 15th to see their art pieces posted as well as the ribbons.

     

     

     

     

     

    All art pieces submitted will need to have an entry form attached to the back, please see the attached entry form to this email. Entry forms will also be available in the front office at your child’s school.

     

    All students were also sent home one copy of the entry form and directions for the Art Contest.

     

    If your child would like supplies to complete their art piece, please send an email to your child’s teacher.
