Notice to Contractors Calling for Prequalification Applications

SULPHUR SPRINGS UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT 

California Assembly Bill (AB) 1565 went into effect on January 1, 2014.  AB 1565 requires ALL General Contractors and M/E/P Subcontractors to be prequalified, if the contract is valued at $1 million or more and funded whole or in part with State Facility Bond funds.  This applied to the following license numbers:

            ~ General Contractors (A and B)

~Mechanical, Engineering and Plumbing subcontactors (“MEPs”): C-4, C-7, C-10, C-

    16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43 and C-46

It is mandatory that all General Contractors and M/E/P Subcontractors who intend to submit a bid fully complete the pre-qualification questionnaire, provide all materials requested herein, and to be approved by the District to be on the final qualified Bidders list.  As projects become available, prequalified bidders will receive advance notice from the District of upcoming projects for which they have been deemed qualified to bid and may choose to bid any or all of the projects for which they are prequalified.

Applications must be received at the Sulphur Springs School District, 27000 Weyerhaeuser Way, Santa Clarita, CA by January 27, 2015.  Prequalification approval will remain valid for one (1) year from the date that the initial list of approved contractors is established  (expected to be February 10, 2015), except as noted in the pre-qualification documents.

The District reserves the right to reject any or all responses to Prequalification Questionnaires and to waive irregularities in any response received.  The District also reserves the right to solicit bids from outside of the prequalified pool as determined by the District to be in its best interest.

All information submitted for prequalification evaluation (questionnaire answers and financial statements) are not public records and are not open to public inspection.  All information provided will be kept confidential to the extent permitted by law.
